As far as recreational facilities go, Tampa is not one to lack. The city has more than 165 parks and beaches and lots of open spaces for you to enjoy. Busch Gardens Africa is one of the popular theme parks in the city that blends sights of exotic animals with entertaining shows, fun rides, and even some shopping. This Tampa theme park started as a visitors center of the Tampa Anheuser-Busch brewery. Visitors could enjoy various animal acts and also taste free Busch beer as they enter the manufacturing plant.
The brewery was eventually closed down and the park was developed into a more extensive entertainment center with more features and attractions. Today this Tampa recreational spot offers several roller coasters, bumper cars, and other thrill rides. Busch Gardens also features exhibits showcasing the cultures of various countries and tribes and Africa as well as animals, from giraffes to porcupines.
If water parks are your type of fun, then you'd surely have a blast at Adventure Island. This Tampa theme park offers four-foot waves, water slides, rapids, lagoons, and bayous to satisfy even the most hardcore aquaphiles. It also offers dining spots and gift shops. Adventure Island is open from March to October, 10am to 6pm and charges an entrance fee of $15.
